Hytec Holdings (Pty) Ltd, in partnership with Khulile Investments (Pty) Ltd, has created the first empowered, full-spectrum hydraulics and automation enterprise in South Africa – Afripower (Pty) Ltd. Afripower forms part of the Hytec Holdings Group, with Khulile Investments holding an effective 25.1% and Hytec holding the remainder.

Afripower commenced operations in 2004 with an asset base of approximately R70 million and employs 250 people in 13 branches nationally.

Established in 1998, Khulile Investments is a 100% empowered investment company with interests in a range of companies, including Coca Cola Fortune and Pioneer Fishing, the fourth largest fishing company in South Africa. Stephen Dondolo, executive chairman of Khulile Investments, has been a non-executive director of Hytec Holdings since February 2003.
